Things I love & recommend

These are tools I’ve used in my business to stay organised, make great designs and offer a beautiful customer experience.

Software & Systems

Podia is the all in one platform I now use to host my online courses, send newsletters, run promotions and sell downloads. You can even use it to built a website if you want. It’s very flexible, intuitive to set up and has great customer care.

GreenGeeks is my favorite host – they are eco friendly, affordable and offer really good customer care. You can install WordPress in just a few clicks and get started building your site right away.

I’ve used and loved Mailerlite for many years and recommend it because it does everything that you want your newsletter provider to do while also being affordable (free up to 1k subscribers, then $10+/month). You can segment your list, integrate Mailerlite, easily review your stats and create automated email sequences.

I’ve been working with the Divi theme by Elegant Themes for almost six years now and absolutely love it. It offers incredible design flexibility, lots of possibility for easy integration with other software and great customer care. All the sites you can see in my portfolio are made with Divi.

I’ve used Acuity for scheduling and payments in the past and loved how it made arranging appointments across different timezones easier. You can add forms, display the time in the client’s timezone and charge for a package of sessions. I only stopped using Acuity because I switched to 17hats, which now also does my bookkeeping, contracts, forms etc so it’s all in one place.

Courses & Learning

Skillshare is a great platform to explore new hobbies and learn new skills. There are plenty of business related classes, but you might also enjoy it to explore creative projects. I sometimes find it a bit overwhelming, so it’s helpful to check for recommendations and be clear on what you want to learn.

I’ve taken the introductory and intermediate courses with the Herbal Academy and really enjoyed them. Not business related, but a great resource if you’d like to study herbalism but don’t have access to a local school.

Write Your Site by Sophy Dale is a really amazing options if you’re struggling with writing your copy and want some professional advice that wont break the bank. I’ve worked with Sophy myself and it has really helped me so much in clarifying and owning my message. You get 50 GBP off if you sign up through my link!

Design

I frequently buy design elements like photos, fonts or graphics on Creative Market – it’s a great, easily searchable resource if you are working on your own designs.

Pexels is a great free image platform where you can find all kinds of images. They are getting better at diversity, but if you’d like to show people of lots of different ages, races, ability and body types in your imagery it might be worth investing in premium stock images.

Canva is an easy to use browser based design tool that I use to make most of my graphics, presentations, mood boards & logos. There is a great free plan that covers lots of functionality and you can upgrade to more easily work with and expand your branding.
